Burwell Detachment of Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force will be holding an open evening between 1845-2100hrs on 29 June 2010 at their detachment hut opposite the sports centre, Buntings Path, Burwell to show the local community what the Army Cadet Force can offer local young people and to celebrate 150 years of the cadet movement.

Burwell Army Cadets aged between 12-18 ¾ will demonstrate a range of activities which are available to local young people. These activities will include rifle drill and skill at arms, as well as some fieldcraft and foot drill. There will be a presentation on what the Army Cadet Force can offer young people, a chance to meet the cadets and instructors and get ‘cammed up’ using camouflage cream. Of course there will be plenty of refreshments!

The detachment is hoping that as many people as possible from Burwell and the surrounding villages will drop in for the evening and share part of ‘the cadet experience’.

Please let as many people know about this event as possible - it would be great to grow the detachment to further become involved in Burwell's community. We are not a closed shop and will welcome anyone on any Tuesday evening between 1900-2100. We look forward to meeting some more of Burwell's residents and young people soon!
